About

Eric Straumanis is a Fort Collins-based guitarist, singer-songwriter, and roots rock musician with more than 30 years of experience writing, recording, and performing. Originally from Iowa City, Iowa, he has been part of the Northern Colorado music community for over 15 years, leading his own projects and collaborating with a wide range of songwriters and bands. Straumanis’ original songs sit firmly in the rock and Americana tradition, with echoes of Neil Young’s jangle, Tom Petty’s directness, and a hint of Roger McGuinn’s melodic grit. Whether playing solo or fronting his band, he brings thoughtful lyrics and evocative guitar work to every performance. In addition to his own material, Eric is a trusted collaborator on the Fort Collins stage, performing with artists such as Jeff Finlin, Erik Lunde, Liz Barnez, Bevin Luna, and others across concerts and tribute shows. He’s also been part of the “Robbies” ensemble for every Last Waltz Again concert at Washington’s in Fort Collins from 2018 through 2024. Straumanis has released music across multiple decades, including albums like Thunder and the Plains and The Weight of Nothing to Lose, along with more recent singles such as You Are Going to Hear Me.
