About

SideYard Sanctuary is an all-original Fort Collins sextet. Their sound blends cosmic funk, folk, indie rock, and Americana. Buzz has followed the band since their rumored beginnings in 2018. They officially landed in 2021 with a 14-track interstellar concept album, Time for a Spacewalk. It featured the irresistibly funky single “My Barbarella.” Recorded at Stout Studios and co-produced by Darren Radach, the album includes guest appearances from Radach and Fort Collins favorite Lauren J. Parsons of Switchman Sleepin. The band drifts freely between genres. Think Flaming Lips, Dr. Dog, Wilco, Ween, Beck, Zappa, and the Grateful Dead—all woven into their own orbit. Anchored by Scott “Slats” Davis on keys and Justin “JDubs” Armstrong’s inventive guitar work, the lineup expands with Jeremy “Skinny” Mooer’s whimsical cajon and trumpet, Evan “Master” Neal’s sultry upright bass, Jason “Father Jasonia” Eckman’s soulful guitar, mandolin, and harmonica, and the versatile lead vocals of Jeremy “Dr. Doobs” Dubin. SideYard Sanctuary delivers a truly original experience. It’s a voyage of curiosity, exploration, and inspired sound. The band has been featured on KRFC’s Live at Lunch, and their debut album appeared on the Roots Mountain Radio Show.
